About Us

Kori Shaw, Founder and Lead Event Coordinator of your Nuptial DOC LLC grew up in Marietta, Georgia. She went to college in Nashville, Tennessee where she received a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Biotechnology. She began working in the wedding and special events industry part-time in 2011 with a Duluth, Georgia based Company, Atlanta Special Events. She learned quickly that she loved the industry and was always willing to show up early to learn as much as possible about setting up for the day’s scheduled event.

In 2013, Kori began working at a historical venue in Midtown Atlanta, The Defoor Centre. With the training of the current director who had over 20 years of experience in the industry, Kori began to learn much about all of the dynamics of putting on events.

In April of 2013, The Defoor Centre hired Kori as a full time Wedding & Events Coordinator to be of assistance for all day of coordinating needs. She soon discovered that the precision techniques and extreme attention to details that she developed in her former career as a scientist assisted her very well as a Wedding Coordinator! She continued to nurture her love for the industry by reading and studying about different styles of décor and by watching and learning with some of the most successful planners in Atlanta.

After 2 years of successfully booking, planning, and coordinating over 25 weddings and events at various venues in the Atlanta area, Kori decided to form her own event coordinating company. She brainstormed with her Mother about the perfect name and your Nuptial DOC LLC was born!
